The article is devoted to the content of birds. The relevance is that, proper, good maintenance and care is the basis that guarantees a good condition and a long life of feathered pets in captivity. As practice shows, in the regions of the Russian Federation and post-Soviet states, the number of chickens, ducks, geese and turkeys in their own private farms increases year after year. According to probable information, the approximate round of production from the owners reaches about 55%. Therefore, a fairly large proportion of livestock is located in their own farms. Practice knows many stories when the deterioration of hygienic conditions for keeping poultry in their own farms and other poultry farms caused new outbreaks of acute infectious diseases and brought huge losses. For example, in the winter of 2005, a new outbreak of avian influenza was noted in the RF region. Subsequently, in the first six months of 2006, the sources of influenza stretched across Russia just in private poultry farms.
