Experience in the use of Robotic Milking Machines in the Sverdlovsk Region

The Sverdlovsk region is among the top ten leaders in milk production among all regions of Russia. Work on the implementation of the entire list of technological operations on livestock farms requires significant labor costs, since each technological operation must be performed in a timely and regular manner, daily throughout the daylight hours, seven days a week. Consequently, it leads to the need for the constant presence of maintenance personnel on a livestock farm, and directly affects the costs of obtaining livestock products. In Russia, various kinds of automation equipment are gradually being used to perform technological operations on farms for the production of livestock products, including robotic milking machines. The purpose is to analyze the experience of using robotic milking machines in the Sverdlovsk region. Results. It was found that in order to milk 200 heads per shift with linear milking into the milk pipeline, 6 people need labor costs, and 3 people are needed to milk the same number of animals with the help of a robot milker. the robotic technology is able to provide automatic control of the milking process in accordance with the characteristics of the udder of cows with simultaneous accounting of milk; it reduces the load on the operator, reduces the number of employees while maintaining the wage fund. In the group of animals, when using the robot, a larger amount of milk was obtained with a slight decrease in the proportion of fat and protein in milk. The robotic installation "Lely Astronaut A4" allows to obtain milk with a somatic cell content of no more than 500 thousand in 1 cm3. Milk of most animals of the group where the robotic installation was used had bacterial contamination up to 500 thousand 1 cm3 and belonged to the first class. Conclusion. Animals with linear milking in the milk pipeline were more predisposed to the disease of mastitis, they were observed by a veterinarian with greater regularity. Milk obtained without the use of a robot was subject to less longterm storage and was less suitable for processing.
