Abstract. The article considers the definition of the object of environmental crimes. The author analyzes the approaches of various scientists who define the object of such crimes. The author of this study reasonably suggests adhering to one of the considered points of view on the definition of the object of environmental relations. In the work, the author distinguishes between the direct object of the crimes described in Chapter 26 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and the subject of such crimes. The paper delineates the objects of environmental crimes vertically.
