Abstract. One of the main ways to improve crop production is to improve seed production of perennial cereal grasses. At present, the country's agro-industrial complex is switching to new economic conditions, self-supporting, cooperative relations with partners are being introduced, so the purchase of seeds becomes significantly unprofitable for any farm. The key role in the quality of seeds is played by the observance of agrotechnological methods when laying, cultivating and caring for perennial grasses, zoned for the conditions of the Middle Urals. The purpose of the research is to study the influence of the method of harvesting the testes of perennial cereal grasses on the yield of seeds, the structure of yield, the sowing quality of seeds. Research methods. The formulation of the field experiment and the generalization of the research results were carried out in accordance with the methods of experimental work. The indicators characterizing the biological efficiency of crops are considered. Results. Investigations of various grass mixtures were carried out for winter hardiness, drought tolerance, that is, perennial cereal grasses that can withstand unfavorable climatic conditions, cope with diseases, suitable for landscaping. This study made it possible to select the best grass mixtures. Scientific novelty. For the first time in the conditions of the Middle Urals, the features of harvesting seeds of perennial grasses for cultivation for seeds and for the formation of lawns are presented.
