Due to the fact that technology is included in all spheres of life of our society, in Russia there is an urgent need for engineering personnel. Russia, which has embarked on the moderni-zation of the economy, needs highly qualified specialists in technical areas. At the same time, personnel policy should form Patriotic feelings: concern for the interests of Russia; manifestation of civic feelings; pride in economic, social and cultural achievements; respect for the historical past; the desire to devote their work, strength and ability to flourish in Russia. This problem is considered on the example of faculties of the Ural state agrarian University engaged in training of engineering personnel. Main activities: formation of students' professional competencies; in-troduction to the curriculum of new disciplines; cooperation with production; participation of students in the student scientific society; student scientific conferences; visiting exhibitions, in-troducing the unique achievements of Russian engineering.
