Summary The lawn is a wonderful backdrop for the architectural elements, for decorative area with flowers and woody plants, ponds and alpine slides. A well-maintained lawn can become an ornament to any park, garden or estate. Often lawn takes up 80-90% of the park area. Lawns are very popular for many reasons, they are highly decorative; aesthetic; They perform a number of environmental features: noise-retention and gasabsorbing capacity, which improves the living conditions of the urban population. According to the purpose lawns are divided into three main groups: decorative, intended for decoration and recreation, performing aesthetic and recreational functions; sports, which hosts a variety of sports games and competitions; grass, they perform mainly ecological function (bordered lanes along the highway, fixed slopes and slopes, etc.). Regardless of the group to which belongs the lawn, its quality is influenced by three main factors: the genotype of the plant, environmental conditions, technology creation and maintenance of swards. Assessment of quality of grass - a complex problem, it depends on the time of year, such as lawns, for which they will be used. Comprehensive assessment of quality of turf grass stands taken hold on the productivity of shoot or adding density of grass on a 6-point scale, and general decorative lawn on a 5-point scale.
