The article presents the results of a study of the career difficulties of university teachers at the initial stage of career development, describes the career stages, and identifies the career difficulties identified during the study into separate categories. Characteristics of career stages are presented. Aspects of the work activity of university teachers are revealed that can help in career development. The theoretical foundations of the study are based on studies of the career stages of Kibanov A.Ya.
